After more than 50 years at the helm of Stellar Entertainment, Founders Rob and Helen Lynch have transferred ownership of the company to Chief Executive Officer Sam Allen, Chief Financial Officer Annie Zhong and Chief Operating Officer Daniel Jacobs (DJ), completing a carefully planned succession.
In their respective executive roles, Sam, Annie and DJ have led Stellar’s growth in recent years, expanding its global airline partnerships while continuing to invest in technology and innovation. Under their leadership, Stellar will continue as an independent business, focused on delivering exceptional inflight entertainment experiences to airlines around the world.
Paying tribute to Rob and Helen’s legacy, Sam Allen, Chief Executive Officer of Stellar Entertainment, said:

Reflecting on the company’s journey, Rob Lynch, Co-Founder of Stellar Entertainment, said
“Over fifty years ago, Helen and I answered an advertisement in a Sydney newspaper from Qantas, who were looking for a company to supply boarding music. Drawing on our background in radio, we put our hand up and won. Stellar Entertainment was born.
From those early days, the passion for entertainment never left us, and watching Stellar grow into what it is today has been one of the great privileges of our lives. What has remained constant throughout that journey is people. It is people who have shaped Stellar, carried its values, and made it what it is today.
As we step back from the business, nothing matters more to us than knowing that this ethos lives on. Sam, Annie and DJ have been the driving force behind Stellar’s growth in recent years. They understand the business deeply, but more importantly, they understand what Stellar stands for. We feel fortunate that our legacy will continue in their hands.

Having spent more than a decade with Stellar Entertainment, Sam has played a pivotal role in the company’s evolution, helping to expand its global reach, strengthen relationships with major studios, distributors and technology partners, and establish Stellar as one of the industry’s most trusted independent content service providers and media labs.
As Chief Executive Officer, Sam is focused on guiding the company’s long-term vision and growth, building on Stellar’s reputation for exceptional service while investing in innovation, strategic partnerships and new opportunities that create lasting value for airline customers and content partners alike.
Passionate about combining global capability with the agility to adapt in a rapidly evolving aviation and entertainment landscape, Sam is leading Stellar into its next chapter. Under his leadership, the company remains committed to making inflight entertainment easy for airlines, while continuing to shape the future of the industry through innovation, collaboration and the trusted relationships that have defined Stellar for more than 50 years.
Annie Zhong
Chief Financial Officer
Since joining Stellar Entertainment in 2016 as a Financial Accountant, Annie Zhong has progressed through a series of senior leadership roles to become Chief Financial Officer. Over the past decade, she has played a key role in strengthening Stellar’s financial foundations, corporate governance and strategic planning, helping position the company for sustainable growth as a global business.
As CFO, Annie leads Stellar’s global finance function and works closely with the executive team to shape corporate strategy, business planning and major commercial initiatives. Her responsibilities also extend to business and market development in Greater China, where she works directly with airline customers and industry partners to strengthen Stellar’s presence, deepen strategic relationships and develop new opportunities in this important market.
Prior to joining Stellar, Annie gained international experience in financial services and accounting in London and Vancouver, working across a diverse range of industries and business restructuring matters. Combining strong financial discipline with commercial insight, deep knowledge of Stellar and a broad international perspective, Annie plays an important role in ensuring the company has the financial strength, strategic focus and market opportunities to support its long-term ambitions.
Daniel Jacobs (DJ)
Chief Operating Officer
Daniel Jacobs, known in the industry as DJ, has been with Stellar Entertainment since 2017 and leads the company’s client services, content programming and commercial operations across its global airline portfolio. He has played a pivotal role in expanding Stellar’s airline partnerships, including leading the successful onboarding of American Airlines in 2023.
DJ is responsible for driving Stellar’s operational strategy and ensuring the business delivers exceptional service, commercial performance and innovation for its airline partners. He champions Stellar’s mission to make inflight entertainment easy by combining expert consultancy, tailored services and technology to simplify every stage of the IFE lifecycle.
He also leads the development of new products, services and operational capabilities designed to meet the evolving needs of airlines and the wider inflight entertainment industry. Drawing on deep industry expertise and long-standing relationships across the global content community, DJ works closely with airline and content partners to deliver practical innovations that improve efficiency, strengthen partnerships and shape the future of inflight entertainment.
